Peachey & Co LLP have been awarded a framework agreement for the provision of legal services to the European Medicines Agency (“EMEA”) in response to a tender for commercial and property leasing, insurance, taxation, social security, inheritance and succession, employment including law governing EU staff regulations, public procurement, contract law for services, supplies and works contracts, health and safety, intellectual property, licensing and other general matters of law.

The firm has provided legal services for EMEA since 1997 and the contract award is for a further four years as primary contractor.  EMEA is a decentralised agency of the EU set up in 1994, based at Canary Wharf, with about 550 staff.  It has important responsibilities for the protection and promotion of public and animal health, through the evaluation and supervision of medicines for human and veterinary use.  See: www.emea.europa.eu.
