December – Peachey & Co LLP, represented the majority shareholders of the UK holding company of a major southern hemisphere located tourist attraction and successfully overturned an interim injunction delaying the consummation of a $100 million share sale agreement (A Co v B Co & C Shareholder (Commercial Court, 2008)).  Peachey & Co LLP instructed the excellent David Lascelles and ever impressive Ian Mayes QC of Littleton Chambers.


November – Peachey & Co LLP acted for the Neo-Soft Group in its recent acquisition of Morpheus Limited for an undisclosed sum.  For more information see:

October - Peachey & Co LLP acted for Menzies Distribution in connection with the OFT's review of newspaper wholesaler's undertakings under the Fair Trading Act, the OFT's Opinion under the Competition Act (with respect to newspaper and magazine distribution in the UK) and the OFT's consideration of a Market Investigation Referral to the Competition Commission under the Enterprise Act.


September - Peachey & Co LLP have been awarded a framework agreement for the provision of legal services to the European Medicines Agency (“EMEA”) in response to a tender for commercial and property leasing, insurance, taxation, social security, inheritance and succession, employment including law governing EU staff regulations, public procurement, contract law for services, supplies and works contracts, health and safety, intellectual property, licensing and other general matters of law.

The firm has provided legal services for EMEA since 1997 and the contract award is for a further four years as primary contractor.  EMEA is a decentralised  agency of the EU set up in 1994, based at Canary Wharf, with about 550 staff.  It has important responsibilities for the protection and promotion of public and animal health, through the evaluation and supervision of medicines for human and veterinary use.  See: www.emea.europa.eu.


August - Peachey & Co LLP acted for the shareholders of Altior Training & Consulting, a specialist provider of professional legal training courses, in their sale of the group to Kaplan Professional (a subsidiary of The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO)) for an undisclosed sum.

July - Peachey & Co LLP has been appointed to act for Cuadrilla Resources Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cuadrilla Resources Corp., an Alberta, Canada oil and gas exploration company. Cuadrilla Resources acquired two Petroleum and Exploration Licences in the UK 13th onshore Round, one of which they have been appointed operator for.

July - Peachey & Co LLP acted for the Norwegian company GGS ASA (listed on the Oslo Bors), and its principal trading English subsidiary GGS-Spectrum Limited, on its demerger into GGS ASA and Spectrum ASA (now listed on the Oslo Axess), effective 1 July 2008. GGS operates in the global tender barge sector and Spectrum operates as a pure play seismic operator growing its multi-client, data processing and marine acquisition divisions. Headquartered in the UK it has offices in most of the major oil producing regions including China, Egypt, Libya, Pakistan and the USA.


June – Peachey & Co LLP congratulates partner Hubert Ashton on his appointment as Chairman of the Governing Body of The Judd School, Tonbridge, Kent’s leading grammar school.

March - Peachey & Co LLP is appointed UK counsel for Neo-Soft in connection with the UK expansion of one of France’s fastest growing private companies.

February - Peachey & Co LLP partner David Wilson has been appointed a non executive director of Gulf Offshore N.S. Limited and its associated companies.  Gulf Offshore is a wholly owned subsidiary of GulfMark Offshore, Inc (listed on the New York Stock Exchange - GLF) and is the leading offshore supply boat operator (Highland Navigator, right) in the North Sea with a fleet of some 31 vessels owned, chartered or under management.
